Skippers Log
Bundaberg, Australia to Cairns ( Leg 2 )

The most pristine beaches in the world are found in the Whitsunday Islands. The sand is like a fine pure white powder, it sticks to your skin and gives you a massage while you lie down on the beach . Rays everywhere in the shallow water near Whitehaven beach and if you are lucky you my get frightfully surprised by two large manta rays while you are snorkeling. Leg 2 started of on the rough side "hard to weather" on our first night with the crew all seasick.
Lady Musgrave Island was was well worth it and offered some great snorkeling and swimming with turtles.

We sailed a lot at night in order to spend the days at anchor in different locations, "just like the cruise ships do". Needles to say the skipper did not get much sleep. It's tricky sailing and you have to be alert not to end up on a reef somewhere because there are plenty of them out there. We did not visit any of the outer reefs because the ocean was to rough to anchor there. This is because of the brisk tradewinds we had for most of the voyage. Hayman Island resort was definitely one of those dream resorts to visit for one day.
Monthy's resort was also very memorable and is labeled as the most laid back resort in Queensland.

Cairns our final destination, is a bustling tourist town
with many backpackers and tourists from allover the globe.
